H2S reduction in leachate
Leachate from landfills containing hydrogen sulphide and is often led to large ponds where pollutants are oxidized away by aeration.
These ponds are a so-called diffuse odor sources and it is often difficult to reduce the inconvenience that often occur in its environment.
Ozone is a powerful oxidant used in industrial applications for water and air purification. Ozone decomposes H2S compounds with less environmental and odor impacts.
Leachate is high contaminated water with very high COD content, which usually requires a lot of oxidizing agents.
By using our high concentration ICT ozone generators, we managed to reduce H2S levels before the water reached the dam.
The H2S odors and inconvenience for the surrounding area could thus be reduced.
