Microbiological reduction in compost treatment
Ozone Tech Systems OTS AB has today delivered a complete water treatment system for microbiological reduction for the waste water of a compost treatment plant in Gävle, Sweden. The purpose of this plant is to treat and prevent occurances of for example salmonella.
This ozone generator system is designed to disinfect water by adding ozone to a partial flow and then dissolving ozone by the use of a reaction tank. The system is complete and pre-mounted on a skid containing an ICT ozone generator, oxygen concentrator, reaction tank, ozone monitor for ambient air, dissolved ozone sensor, ozone destructor and other necessary ozone equipment for water treatment.
The water is pumped into the system via an external pump (not included) into the reaction tank. When the system is in operation, a bypass pump will pass a partial flow through an injector which mixes ozone into the water and into the reaction tank where it is dissolved.
Any excessive ozone gas which is not dissolved is destructed by an ozone destructor. The ozone destructor contains a catalytical substance which rapidly and efficiently breaks down ozone back to oxygen gas. The excess ozone gas is led through the destructor from an exhaust valve from the reaction tank. The ORP levels are constantly monitored after the reaction tank.
In case of an ozone leakage, an external ozone monitor will detect an increase of ozone concentrations in the ambient air and shut off the system and indicate this by a red light. The red light will shut off when ozone levels have reached normal levels.
This system is fully scalable and can be suited to many application areas for water treatment with ozone.
