Ozonetech signs contract for full scale pharmaceutical residue removal

In collaboration with Umeå municipality in the north of Sweden, Ozonetech will deliver a full scale micropollutant removal solution to combat the pharmaceutical residues and PFOS emissions from the local wastewater treatment plants.

The project comprises plant audit, micropollutant profiling, and pilot scale treatment to optimize operational efficiency. The project has already entered the design phase and will include ozone treatment, Advanced Oxidation Process (AOP) and a combination of Biological Activated Carbon (BAC), Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) and sand filtration to ensure complete removal of micropollutants.
